HSCC Brands Hatch Super Prix

A great event from the HSCC at our local circuit. We had four cars out this weekend with Tim Abbott with his BMW 1800ti in the Historic Touring Car race and Ian Burford with his Lenham, Larry Tucker with his Ashley and Julian Balme with the Marcos 1600GT in the Historic Road Sports race. Tim had a cracking qualifying beating his lap record around the Indy Circuit followed by an equally superb race. Finishing 8th overall and first in the Appendix K class. Unfortunately the Historic Road Sports race was cut short due to a couple of collisions. Find the HRSR race report here.

Rebuilt differential for Tim Abbott’s BMW 1800TI

Nigel at Retro Engineering has done an excellent job of rebuilding the differentials in the BMW’s. The limited slip units have been rebuilt also with the ramp angles set to 30/30 and the preload adjusted. A new pinion nut and solid spacer have been fitted as the nuts have a tendency to come loose causing untold damage. The car is out at Brands Hatch GP circuit today in preparation for the Masters Historic Festival on May 23rd and 24th.
