A great event from the HSCC at our local circuit. We had four cars out this weekend with Tim Abbott with his BMW 1800ti in the Historic Touring Car race and Ian Burford with his Lenham, Larry Tucker with his Ashley and Julian Balme with the Marcos 1600GT in the Historic Road Sports race. Tim had a cracking qualifying beating his lap record around the Indy Circuit followed by an equally superb race. Finishing 8th overall and first in the Appendix K class. Unfortunately the Historic Road Sports race was cut short due to a couple of collisions. Find the HRSR race report here.
Charles Rainford race debut at Brands Hatch
Shaun’s son Charles had his first race last weekend and at 16 was the youngest person on the grid. He entered the HRDC Allstars race at Brands Hatch with his MG Lenham Le Mans. Qualifying was cut short due to an alternator failure so he started from 20th in the race. Charles drove supremely well staying out of trouble and making up 13 places to finish 7th overall and 2nd in class. You will be see a lot more of him in future grids. Thanks to Kelvin Fagan for the photo.
