GRRC 76th Members Meeting

To say it was cold is an understatement. It was bitter, but then who are we if we don’t have the weather to complain about. This weather was so bad it will keep us going with out complaints for the whole season. F5000 cars in the snow? Yep! Still thoroughly enjoyed the racing though so all was not lost. The Gurney Cup was epic as was the Sears Trophy, Gerry Marshall Trophy and the Bolster Cup for pre-war Specials. We had Dave Griffiths out in the Ronnie Hoare Trophy race in the best looking Triumph TR4 on the grid. The black and red Triumph was back at Goodwood for the 2nd time having raced previously at the GRRC 73rd Members Meeting.

Triumph TR4 ready for Goodwood’s 76th Members Meeting

Dave Griffith’s FIA Triumph TR4 is ready to head down to Goodwood today for this weekends GRRC 76th Members Meeting. This winter we built a new engine with a significant jump in power between 4000rpm and 7000rpm. We’ve had two successful test sessions leading up to this event and now it is time to load up head down. The expectation is for a mini ice age this weekend so fingers crossed there’s not too much snow. See you there.

Griffith’s Triumph TR4 to compete at GRRC 76th Members Meeting

We are excited to be attending the GRRC’s 76th Members Meeting at Goodwood with Dave Griffith’s Triumph TR4. Dave last competed at Goodwood at the 73rd Members Meeting. This follows Dave’s class championship win in the Equipe GTS 2017 season. Over the winter the car has been prepped and has received a freshly developed engine with a new cam profile and some lighter weight pistons from JE.

75th Members Meeting a Rainford family affair

Goodwood’s 75th Members Meeting marked a milestone in the Rainford household as this years Weslake Cup was the first race in which Shaun and his son Charles both competed.  Father and son both drove admirably with Charles taking advantage of a spin to pass his father on track. Charles made it as far as 2nd position, before the red flag, from 9th on the grid, and Shaun ran as high as 3rd from 8th on the grid, before losing the podium spot to customer Mike Haigh. You can read an article which Shaun gave an interview for on Goodwoods website by following the link below.
