Last weekend was the HSCC’s Finals at Silverstone. We were there to look after the Tuckers in the Shelby GT350R and Ashley GT and Ian Burford in the Ginetta G4. A successful weekend all around. Larry and Ian had a huge battle for most of the race and Laurie really got the most out of the little Ashley GT getting quicker with every outing.
Larry Tucker and son Laurie Tucker were both on point at this weekends Oulton Park Gold Cup. Both Tucker’s were competing in the HSCC Historic Road Sports race, Larry in the Shelby Mustang GT350R and son Laurie in the little Ashley GT Midget. Larry has built up confidence in the Mustang throughout this season and is very much on top of it’s performance. Incredibly this was Laurie’s first race. He went out and blitzed it to win his class.
Spring had arrived just in time for last Thursdays test at Goodwood Motor Circuit. The sun was shining and the track was dry. This was the final test for the Cheetah and the Shelby GT350R prior to Goodwood’s 75th Members Meeting and the Graham Hill Trophy. Some final adjustments are being made now before we all head down later this week.
We are very pleased that both the Cheetah and the Shelby GT350 have been invited to Goodwood’s 75th Members Meeting. We’ve put so much work into building both these cars it is really exciting that they will debut at Goodwood. The Cheetah has been a real challenge. Taking the better part of 3 years to complete it will be the first Cheetah to ever race at the Goodwood Motor Circuit. The Shelby Mustang was a little more straight forward but equally emotive when you hear the 289ci V8 engine on full chat.
Friday the 24th we were testing at Brands Hatch with Larry Tucker’s recently completed Shelby Mustang GT350R. We’ve recently finished building the car and we are now in the final development stage prior to it’s debut at Goodwood’s 75th Members Meeting. Everything went well for the cars initial shake down. We have a new set of dampers to fit and a few more small jobs prior to a Goodwood test on March 9th.
