Ford Capri Metal Restoration

Ford Capri metal restoration

Over the past couple of weeks we’ve undertaken this Ford Capri metal restoration. The car arrived as a non-runner, however the engine had been recently serviced and upgraded. The primary concern was extensive rust is the front end body panels. The owner had sourced new front wings as well as a second bonnet from which we could cut out the good metal.

We restored the footwells, inner wings and replaced the headlight bowls. Additionally the front strut mounting panel and the wing mounting areas needed restoration. The outer edges of the front panel required welding as did the rear portion of the sills. Lastly, the rear wheel arches and the rear spring mountings were repaired with new panels.

We are not painting this Ford Capri, just the metal restoration. Next step is to get the engine up and running and tuned on the rolling road.
