The black and red Triumph TR4 of Dave Griffiths has been undergoing some winter prep for the 2019 season. The engine has been freshly rebuilt with a new cylinder head from a new iron casting. We’ll also be fitting a new clutch plate before the freshly rebuilt gearbox goes on. The whole unit will get fitted in the car before a rolling road session to get it all dialled in. The car has it’s first test booked at Brands Hatch on March 1st. Fingers crossed for a dry day.
Last weekend we were back at Brands Hatch with Equipe Classic Racing although this time we were on the full Grand Prix circuit and the race was in support of the British GT championship. Dave Griffiths was racing his black Triumph TR4. Qualifying didn’t quite go to plan but he fought hard to make up a massive 12 places.
The Equipe GTS calendar got under way yesterday with their Goodwood track day. We were there with Dave Griffith’s and his black and red Triumph TR4. The car is going really well and it was great to see the car out on track prior to a busy 2017 season.
Over the winter we have been giving the FIA Triumph TR4 of Dave Griffith’s a thorough refresh. The car has been painted in it’s original black with a new livery. New brightwork and interior trim has been fitted along with a new steering wheel. The engine has been out and has been refreshed ready for the season with a new camshaft from Piper Cams that should see a few extra ponies. We will be testing with Dave and Goodwood Motor Circuit on Tuesday 24th of February. Dave will be competing at the GRRC 73rd Members Meeting on the 21st and 22nd of March. #73MM
