HSCC Silverstone Finals

Last weekend was the HSCC’s Finals at Silverstone. We were there to look after the Tuckers in the Shelby GT350R and Ashley GT and Ian Burford in the Ginetta G4. A successful weekend all around. Larry and Ian had a huge battle for most of the race and Laurie really got the most out of the little Ashley GT getting quicker with every outing.

Ian and Larry start their Historic Road Sports campaign at Castle Combe

Sunday 10th of April saw the start of the HSCC Historic Road Sports Championship. We were there with Larry Tucker and the Ashley GT and Ian Burford with his new Ginetta G4. Both had a good weekend, Larry in long battle with a Lotus Elan and Ian with a run through the pack from 18th up to 7th after being pushed off on a corner. We will be back for the next round at Silverstone on May 21st. Both photos courtesy of Joshua Barrett.

Ginetta G4. Fueling sorted with 4.3bhp increase

We’ve rebuilt the engine over the winter and put the Ginetta G4 on the rolling road yesterday to see what it was doing. The setup on this engine was massively rich to the point of bore wash. It was running at 13.4% CO. We knew it must have been rich when we stripped it down as it was black inside. As the engine is now fresh we haven’t revved it all the way through but the initial run showed 124.3bhp. We leaned off the mixture to a safe level and found an increase of 4.3bhp. Once the engine is run in we will rev it all the way through and hopefully see closer to 140bhp.
