FIA Triumph TR4 race car – New owner. New look

FIA Triumph TR4 race car

The FIA Triumph TR4 race car has found a new owner. Equipe GTS regular, Paul Kennelly, has taken over the custodianship from Dave Griffiths. Paul has already made the car his own by changing the livery. The red stripe across the bonnet and red front panel are now gone and the hard top has been painted silver. Additionally, we’ve added silver roundels to match the top.

Over the winter we have given the car a fresh prep. We decided to fit new brake calipers and master cylinder ahead of this season. Paul’s first race in the car will be Goodwood’s 78th Members Meeting. It will also be Paul’s first time racing at Goodwood. Paul has already tested the car once at Brands Hatch and will test the car again at Goodwood prior to Members Meeting.

This FIA Triumph TR4 race car has been consistently campaigned over the past 30 years. We are excited to see the car passed onto a new owner who will continue to race it.

Winter prep and engine rebuild for FIA Triumph TR4

One of our many tasks this winter is a fresh prep and engine rebuild for the Griffith’s FIA Triumph TR4. Keeping a good car fast and reliable takes constant work and the winter is a good time to get ahead. We’ve been through the suspension and drivetrain, rebuilt the gearbox and are in the process of rebuilding the engine. The engine is getting a fresh set of pistons and a recently developed camshaft profile.

Another Triumph. TR4 ready to race. (almost)

We’ve nearly completed the race preparation of this Triumph TR4. The owners are planning to use the car to compete in the Historic Road Sports. We’ve done a lot of work to rebuild suspension and brakes as well as bringing the car inline with the MSA’s safety standards. We are waiting the arrival of the seats and need to install the front cage but otherwise it is good to go. Next stop is Brands Hatch for a track day.
