The bodyshop is now finished with ’58 VW Beetle. The striking colour is a deep metallic orange under flattened and polished lacquer. The finish is exceptional and will make for a stunning classic when the car is complete.

1958 VW Beetle in Zinc Phosphate
The 1958 VW Beetle shell has been rubbed down, rust treated and coated in our zinc-phosphate epoxy. There are a few repairs to be made to the shell and chassis but it is at least protected now from the elements.
A new home for Herman the Volkswagon Beetle
This week we rescued a 1958 Volkswagon Beetle race car project. The car was being prepped for racing before unforeseen circumstances brought work to a standstill. We have picked up where they left off and will continue the project as intended. The roll cage will be completed and the rest of the car will be built to the same standard as all of our race cars. It has not been decided whether or not this car will be campaigned but it will be built as such so not to rule out any future possibilities. Shaun’s youngest son Ali Rainford will be the new custodian of this early Beetle whether he chooses to follow in his father’s footsteps or not.
