We’ve finished the Mk1 Mini body shell restoration for Tim Sims. Next step is to install the Custom Cages T45 Historic roll cage and then paint it. Tim’s owned this car for 37 years and this is the second time it has been restored. Here is a photo of it now and a photo of it back in the 80’s.
We’ve just started on the restoration of Tim Sims Mk1 Mini. This was his first car, he has had it for 37 years but in recent years it has deteriorated significantly. We’ve had the body media blasted and now we are in the process of re-paneling it. Tim was a successful Mini racer in the past but he’s undecided whether his Mk1 will become a race car or not.
Ian Goodwright is not only our master painter but also fulfils the role of in-house Mini anorak. His knowledge of classic mini’s is extensive and his ability to restore even the most rotten example to a very high standard is remarkable. Ian’s 1963 Mk1 Morris Cooper was restored to the highest possible standard. Finished in Smoke Grey with white roof, Ian carried out all of the restoration work himself to achieve what should be considered one of the finest Mk1 Mini Cooper’s in the world.
