Rebuilt 1293cc race engine installed in Austin A40

We’ve fully rebuilt this 1293cc Swiftune race engine for our Austin A40 race car. The engine features an all steel bottom end with Omega pistons and Swiftune’s cylinder head and fuelled by a pair of SU HS4 1.5″ carburettors. Next step is to get it run-in and tuned on the rolling road. If you are looking for a historic race car to purchase, this car will be available shortly.

Built from the ground up to the HRDC Speedwell class / St Mary’s Trophy regulations using an excellent road car and developed extensively over a number of seasons. This car has been raced with great success. Most notably a podium finish in the 2006 Goodwood Revival St. Mary’s Trophy with Shaun Rainford and legendary racing driver John Rhodes. The rear axle is fitted with competition half shafts, limited slip differential and a Watt’s linkage. MG Midget disc brakes are fitted up front along with lowered and strengthened wishbone pans, competition springs, modified lever arm dampers, anti-roll bar and Weller wheels. The interior features a full MSA specification roll cage, Corbeau racing seat, OMP plumbed in extinguisher, STACK rev counter and Smiths gauges. The comes with a straight cut, close ratio gearbox a freshly rebuilt Swiftune 1293cc engine on twin SU carburettors.

Goodwood Revival’s St. Mary’s Trophy never fails to entertain and this years running was no different. The 1950’s grid is always eclectic with a varied range of weird and wonderful saloons.
