Sam Polley’s MGB was dropped back following the installation of his freshly rebuilt engine. We setup the fueling and ran the engine in on the rolling road prior to the CSCC meeting at Brands Hatch this last weekend. Despite fog putting an end to play Sam got some good laps in and managed to better his personal best by 1.5 seconds.
Nash Metropolitan gets a new race engine
Over the past couple of months we have been working on an all new engine for our Metropolitan. We have spared nothing this time around. A billet steel crankshaft from Arrow, a set of billet steel con rods and a billet steel flywheel have all been meticulously balanced to within 0.5grams. Omega forged aluminium pistons and camshaft that will see us through to 8000rpm. We are aiming to get the car out on track in July. We’ve changed the rear springs since the cars last outing so will be anticipating some improved handling as well as the extra grunt.
