Early Porsche 911 rolling road

Early short wheel base Porsche 911’s are stunning. This one is nearing the end of it’s restoration and looks splendid. Owner Carl Venus has had some trouble with the carburettors since they were rebuilt some months ago. With some new idle mixture screws we were able to setup up and balance the carbs before sorting out the top end.

Oulton Park Gold Cup

The rain failed to drown the great atmosphere at one of the seasons best events. With four cars to run in two different races we had plenty of work to do. Ian Burford and Larry Tucker were racing a Lenham Midget and Ashley Midget respectively in the Historic Road Sports. Despite a wet qualifying both drivers competed well with Ian securing 1st in his class. Dave Griffiths and our own Shaun Rainford were competing in the Historic Touring Car race. Dave in his venerable Standard Vanguard and Shaun in the irrepressible Volvo Amazon. Both enjoyed the competition greatly giving the Cortina’s and Alfa Romeo’s a run for their money. Dave finished a very respectable 3rd in his class. I think we will definitely be returning next year.

Rolling Road tuning for a 1956 Porsche Speedster

Another stunning vehicle to come out of Paragon Porsche. This time a genuine 1956 Speedster. Only 200 miles on a fresh engine so we only did a base setup. This involves balancing the carbs, setting up the idle mixture and speed and giving it a short run on the rollers to 2500rpm just to make sure it is not going to run weak or too rich.
