Dave Griffiths FIA Triumph TR4 is almost ready for the 2016 season. We decided to get it on the new rolling road and get some data stored on the computer as well as checking on the mixtures. The new gas analyzer will plot all the gasses on a graph when we do a power run. With the CO’s now on a graph we can look at the trend, see where it is leaning off or getting richer. The TR4 was leaning off towards the top end. We changed an air corrector and got an increase of 2.2bhp. Not a huge amount but every little helps.
Griffith’s Triumph TR4 ready for action
Over the winter we have been giving the FIA Triumph TR4 of Dave Griffith’s a thorough refresh. The car has been painted in it’s original black with a new livery. New brightwork and interior trim has been fitted along with a new steering wheel. The engine has been out and has been refreshed ready for the season with a new camshaft from Piper Cams that should see a few extra ponies. We will be testing with Dave and Goodwood Motor Circuit on Tuesday 24th of February. Dave will be competing at the GRRC 73rd Members Meeting on the 21st and 22nd of March. #73MM

Triumph TR4 race preparation
Although Dave Griffith’s newly acquired Triumph TR4 is a well proven and successful historic racer it is showing some signs of wear and tear. Before the season ends we are giving the car a fresh prep. New front brakes were in order along with a better rev counter, light weight Recaro seat and Sabelt harness. More work will be carried out over the winter.
