A couple of interesting vehicles on the rolling road. An MGB V8 race car with flat plane crank and Weber IDF carburettors and a well known Jaguar Mk2 with triple SU’s. Both cars can be seen on track regularly.
Woolworths Racing Jaguar 3.4 Saloon
Chris Wigdor brought his very interesting Mk1 in for a rolling road tune. The car has a very interesting past. The car is a Special Equipment example first registered on the 22nd October 1958 having been ordered directly from Jaguar by FW Woolworth & Co. to competition specification including close ratio gearbox and high ratio steering box. The engine modifications were carried out initially at Jaguar by its celebrated tuner and development engineer Ron Beatty. The current owner uses it for sprints and hill climbs, its most recent success being an outright win in the Bugatti Owners’ Club pre-1972 Handicap at Prescott in October 2012.
