“Lumbertubs” the Austin Healey Sprite is getting a Winter preparation prior to its second GRRC Members Meeting appearance and the 2017 season. The engine is getting top and tailed and we are going through the brakes and suspension making sure everything is in order.

Ian Burford’s Austin-Healey Sprite “Lumbertubs” has been invited to compete in an the BIC Healey Trophy race as part of the Bentley Drivers Club Race Day at Silverstone on Saturday 1st August. There will be an interesting mix of big and small Healeys competing in a 25min race on the National circuit.
Testing “Lumbertubs” Sprite at Goodwood ahead of 73rd Members Meeting
Last week we were at Goodwood with Ian Burford getting some seat time in “Lumbertubs” ahead of the 73rd Members Meeting. It will be the first time they have raced at Goodwood so wanted to get in some practice. Ian will be competing for the Les Leston Trophy along with Dave Griffith’s at the 73rd next week. #73MM
“Lumbertubs” makes Goodwood debut in 73rd Members Meeting
Ian Burford’s Austin-Healey Sprite “Lumbertubs” has at last received an invite to race at Goodwood. Originally built in the early 1960’s the car has been campaigned for many years in many different specifications. Ian Burford has owned the car now for the last 3 years and campaigned it extensively. He will now be looking forward to driving the car in the Les Leston Trophy race at Goodwood’s 73rd Members Meeting.
