Mark Sumpter’s Porsche 911 was on the rollers today getting tuned for Goodwood’s 73rd Members Meeting. We’ve tuned it to run with silencers and without as Goodwood allows (encourages) un-silenced racing cars. Yes, it is very loud. #73MM
Porsche Centre Tonbridge brought this stunning Porsche 911 2.4S in with some fueling issues. A short session on the rolling road told us that it was running very week at partial throttle. By adjusting the mixture on the injection pump we achieved proper fueling at partial and full throttle.
Dave Broughton of 911 Classics brought us a 911 race car running Bosch slide throttle fuel injection. The car was not running right so Dave asked us to put it on the rollers and find out what was going wrong. Graham ran the car up on the rollers and found that it was massively weak. Only 2.04% Co. An adjustment to the injection pump put that right bringing the Co’s up to 6%. The 911 is now delivering 198bhp at the wheels.
