Now sold and on it’s way to a new home at Oldtimer Galarie Rosenau in Germany.
This aluminium bodied Austin-Healey Sprite was built in 1966 for that seasons big endurance races. It competed in the Sebring 12hour race with Timo Makinen and Paul Hawkins and later at Le Mans with Andrew Hedges and Paddy Hopkirk at the wheel. In 1970 the car competed in the Daytona 24hr with a privateer. Currently running a wet sump 1293cc engine the car still has its original dry sump unit in storage. It is seen here sitting on its original magnesium racing wheels which are too fragile for racing today but a set of Minilites suitable for racing are included. In recent years the car has competed at premier historic events including Goodwood Revival, Le Mans Classic and at Sebring. The car has full current HTP papers and has it’s original UK registration number. Please inquire for more details.
