David Mansell brought in a very sad looking engine from his Mk3 Mini Cooper S. “It has been sitting in some rather damp conditions for some 30 years.” Yes, we can tell. The engine has been rebuilt to fast road spec. The bore was increased by .020″ to give 1293cc. A Piper 270 camshaft has been fitted and the cylinder head is getting large valves and a port and polish. The gearbox has had a rebuild and the whole lot painted in the correct satin black.
