Bespoke roll cage for TVR Grantura

We’ve built a new bespoke roll cage for the Coventry Climax engined TVR Grantura of Ian Burford. The car had an existing cage, however, it had some major issues and safety must always come first. The decision was made to remove the old cage and build a new one to FIA specifications. The bespoke cage was made from 38mm CDS tubing and bolts to reinforced parts of the TVR chassis. In addition, Ian opted to have the cage painted in the body colour, Aston-Martin’s California Sage green.

FIA Mini Cooper S to compete at GRRC 77th Members Meeting

We are pleased to announce that our FIA Mini Cooper S will be competing at Goodwood’s GRRC 77th Member Meeting. This April, 60 Mini’s will compete in the Betty Richmond Trophy. Following a blistering run up the hill at FOS in the John Rhodes mini we will, once again, have our own Charles Rainford behind the wheel. Although the car has not seen much action since being completed, we are currently building a new race engine for it. In an effort to maximise our chances of a strong result we are implementing a few upgrades. Competition will be fierce so we want to give Charles, and the car, the best possible chance.

Our Mini Cooper S race car was built to illustrate our book. We received a great deal of support from MiniSport along with other suppliers. Click here to find out more about the book.

Fresh engine and gearbox for TR4 ahead of Equipe GTS 2019 season

Triumph TR4 race engine rebuild

As part of this Triumph TR4 race preparation service we look after every part of a race car. That includes engines and gearboxes. The black and red Triumph TR4 of Dave Griffiths has been undergoing some winter prep ahead of the 2019 season. The engine has been freshly rebuilt with a brand new cylinder head from a new iron casting. Additionally, we’ve changed the camshaft profile to make another jump in power. We will fit a new clutch plate before the engine is mated to the freshly rebuilt gearbox. Finally, the whole unit will be fitted in the car before a rolling road session to dial in the new head and camshaft. The car has it’s first test booked at Brands Hatch on March 1st. Fingers crossed for a dry day.

Rebuilt 1293cc race engine installed in Austin A40

We’ve fully rebuilt this 1293cc Swiftune race engine for our Austin A40 race car. The engine features an all steel bottom end with Omega pistons and Swiftune’s cylinder head and fuelled by a pair of SU HS4 1.5″ carburettors. Next step is to get it run-in and tuned on the rolling road. If you are looking for a historic race car to purchase, this car will be available shortly.
