Historic Race Car Support and Development

One of our aims when supporting our clients historic racing activities is to help them achieve better results through the development of their car and their driving. Not all historic cars are competitive in the class and few cars a capable of winning regularly. Even if you are not at the front of the grid we can get you closer. There could be seconds to be made in the proper setup of the suspension and chassis. Springs rates, geometry and corner-weighting can all have big effect on balance and grip. A new engine with steel components might have a higher rev limit allowing it to generate more power. As well as developing your race car we can provide driving tuition. We can help with good habits and techniques that will help shave time off your lap. If you are interested in race support and development please do not hesitate to get in touch by phone or click to email.

Upgrades for a Fiat. Race car development

We love historic race car preparation and development. We’ve made huge progress on the Fiat 1500 in the last 2 weeks. A custom exhaust manifold and system will let it breathe an awful lot better. A limited slip diff has been installed in the axle along with custom made competition half shafts. We’ve made a set of 13 x 6″ steel wheels to fit some larger rubber under the arches. There is a new race engine under way which will feature twin Weber carburettors. Watch this space.

Historic race car development. Vanguard and Volga.

Development is important as we always try to get the best out of our cars and drivers. The Vanguard is currently receiving some development work in the way of lower and stiffer suspension as well as a larger carburettors and an increase in bore. We are currently fabricating a rear anti-roll bar for the Gaz Volga. Most of the cars we deal with are not commonly modified let alone raced so making them go quicker involves a certain amount of creativity and imagination, but that is why it is so fun. If you think your racer is not quite right, if you feel it’s too soft in the corners or it understeers oversteers, if it’s  unreliable or you feel you’d like more power please give us a call for a consultation.
