Sprint/hillclimb MG gets some major upgrades

This MG Midget is in for some extensive upgrades. The engine is out for a refresh along with a hotter cam and some head work. Along with some other preparation work the gearbox is being rebuilt with one of our Quaife dog engagement gear sets and an LSD will be installed in the axle. This tidy example is built around a very good body shell and with the new improvements should prove to be very competitive.

New water pump for Simon Polley’s Midget 1500 racer

After finding the engine bay covered in coolant after his last race Simon Polley thought he best get the engine looked at. With an initial fear of a head gasket issue Simon was pleased to hear that issue was a leak from the water pump and housing. A new pump and some gaskets and all is dry. Simon is racing his Midget 1500 in the CSCC Swinging Sixties race series.

“Just wanted to thank you and let you know that my Midget ran beautifully at Brands this week end. On the pace and no leaks! I won my class though have to say that this was ‘last man standing’ due to others crashing out and breaking down but as they say ‘to finish first, first you have to finish’ and given my recent engine problems I think I deserve an award!”

Lenham Le Mans hire car takes shape

Much progress has been made in the last couple of weeks. Ian has done a great job of bonding my fibreglass back to the Midget chassis and painting everything in bright red. Can’t wait for the stripe.

Spridget Restoration

We are currently restoring a MG Midget for a customer. It was awfully rotten but Ian Goodwright has done a cracking job and bringing it back from the brink. Lots of welding and new panels but this little Spridget will live once again.
