We’ve been busy this week making roll cages. The first is for Paul Tarry’s new Sebring Sprite. The 6 point weld in cage has been made to measure and TIG welded in place. The aluminium Sebring roof fits perfectly over top. Can’t wait to see this car out on track.
Fiat 500 annual service
This lovely little Fiat 500 is in for it’s annual service. The car is in superb condition and features a 650cc engine for a little more go. A new set of plugs and leads, a clean out of the centrifugal oil cleaner, strip and clean of the brakes and some fresh grease for the wheel bearings. Ready for some classic summer motoring.
Alexander Alfa looses weight and gets re-wired
David Alexander’s Alfa Romeo is getting some TLC. The wiring was questionable at best so it was decided that we would rewire the car with a bespoke light weight wiring loom. The loom itself is a lot lighter and we’ve swapped the original generator for a light weight alternator to save another 2kg. All of the switches have been moved to a central control panel within easy access for the driver. We have also been looking for other ways to loose weight including the removal of the 5kg heater unit and replacing the door cards. Other work includes a radiator repair, some new poly windows and the Magnesium wheels are being refurbished.
Austin J40 pedal car race preparation
MGC thorough service.
One of our customers has recently purchased this very nice MGC. The car will be stored with us as he lives abroad but he plans to do some driving in Europe with it so a thorough inspection and service was required. We’ve replaced the head gasket, rear spring shackle bushes, coolant hoses and fuel hoses along with some other items. It was missing a spare wheel so a new one was ordered along with a matching Firestone F560 tyre.
