1965 Ford Mustang race car build

One of our regular customers has brought us his 1965 Ford Mustang. We received the car as a shell and a box of bits and we’ve been assembling it over the past couple of weeks. Most of the parts were there and ready to bolt on, some we’ve had to look for. The car will be an FIA race car so will be fitted with FIA approved equipment and built to the specifications set out in the homologation papers. The car is nearing completion and will be getting painted shortly.

Jaguar E-type painted

All done. The E-type has been finished and looks stunning. We’ve gone the extra mile with this one with two coats of primer wet flatted before the base coat and clear. The restoration of the shell was so good we had to have a paint job to match the quality. Can’t wait to see this car once assembled.

This week at CCK

A varied range of tasks in the workshop this week. The E-type is coming along beautifully and now has paint underneath, the top will be painted over the course of the week. Dave Griffith’s Vanguard is getting repaired after an off at Mallory Park, but is also getting a new engine, larger and more powerful ready to take on the competition next season. A fresh engine build for for a classic Mini as well as some fibreglass products for a BMW CSL Batmobile.

Painting a Jaguar E-type

We recently received this beautifully restored Jaguar E-type roadster shell for painting. The metal work is superb with lovely door gaps and lead loading. Only the best paint job will do for such a nice shell. Watch this space for updates.
