Milano MG Special makes it’s UK debut at Mallory Park

Following a busy couple of weeks in preparation the works Milano MG Special has made it’s UK debut at Mallory Park with the HRDC. The car was a long from MSA racing standards when it came in so a lot of work was required to get it ready for scrutineering. We had a huge list to attend to including the electrics, fuel system, roll bar, and extinguisher system. Once at Mallory Park the car developed a misfire in qualifying due to some errant breaker points. Once rectified the car showed huge potential making it up to 5th overall.

Ford Falcon belly, blasted and painted.

The Ford Falcon has come a long way in the last 2 weeks. The car has been partially stripped and the underside has been media blasted and etch primed. It then went in the body shop where we’ve welded up a few holes, seam sealed it, epoxy primed and painted in Wimbledon White. Next up is to rebuild the axle and suspension.

Silverstone Classic

Other than a minor shower on the Friday this years Silverstone Classic was DRY and sunny! Shocking. We were there with Ian Burford’s Ginetta G4 and the Mira-Gomes XK140. This year the event seemed better organised despite the hot weather and the massive attendance of racers and spectators. Overall a great weekend. We will be looking forward to next year.

A lot of racing this spring

We’ve had a busy start to the season this year. Since Goodwood’s 76th Members Meeting back in March we’ve been to Silverstone four times, Brands Hatch twice and to Donington, Snetterton and Oulton Park once each. We are back to Brands Hatch later this month and looking at a busy July with another race at Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Donington and Silverstone as well as the Goodwood Festival of Speed. No rest for the wicked.

Brands Hatch test for Lotus Cortina

David Moran’s Lotus Cortina hasn’t been on track for a little while. This winter the car received a new light weight T45 roll cage and a new Neil Brown race engine is on its way. In the meantime we’ve been down to Brands Hatch for a little track time. The car is going well but there are a couple of jobs to do before it’s next race..
