The Fiat is almost ready for it’s Revival debut. The new engine is in along with twin Weber carbs, bespoke intake and exhaust manifolds have been fitted as well as an LSD and bespoke competition half shafts. Today we will get the new engine tuned up and run in before we go testing. Guy Harman will be sharing the drive with Rupert Keegan.

We had the pleasure of welcoming the Central Sussex division of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club the other day. We put on the teas and coffees and supplied the biscuits whilst the AROC enjoyed the selection of cars we have on display and in the workshop. Motoring journalist John Simister came in for a rolling road tune on his Shorrock supercharged 1959 850cc Mini. The well known and very early mini has just had its supercharger rebuilt and required setting up. The single SU carburettor required some needle profiling to get it just right and in the end produced an impressive 70bhp (flywheel approximation). That’s 1275 territory from a little 850.
Ian Gordon brought his very tidy Triumph GT6 MkIII in for a tune up on Friday. Almost too clean to touch, Ian’s GT6 went on the rollers without trouble. We balanced the two Stromberg carburetors before taking it up through the gears and getting the fueling spot on.
